Plumbing Repair & Installation in Long Grove & Chicagoland

The everyday plumbing that keeps a house running — repaired properly the first time by a licensed contractor.

Widespread bathroom faucet and shutoff valves on a marble vanity

Most plumbing calls are the ordinary ones: a faucet that drips, a toilet that runs all night, a water heater that quit, a drain that backs up during a family dinner. North Service Plumbing handles this repair and installation work for homes and small commercial spaces across the Chicagoland area, with more than 20 years of hands-on experience behind every visit.

A service call starts with an honest diagnosis. We find out what is actually wrong, explain what we found in plain language, and lay out the options — including the cost of repairing a part versus replacing the whole fixture — before any work begins. Several of the reviews on our Facebook page mention this specifically: charges explained up front, no surprises at the end.

On the installation side, we set fixtures and appliances so they work correctly and stay serviceable: kitchen and bath faucets, sinks, toilets, tubs and showers, garbage disposals, shutoff valves, and the supply and drain connections behind them. If you are replacing a water heater or adding a fixture during a remodel, the rough-in and the final connections are done to Illinois plumbing code.

When a repair is straightforward we often complete it on the first visit. When a job needs a part, a permit or a return trip, we tell you that too, and we schedule it around your day rather than leaving the house torn apart.

“Several times I have had plumbing needs for both new installation of fixtures for renovations and repairs of broken pipes, including septic, well, main stack and sump pump. In the purchase of my new home there were issues found that needed to be addressed. Not only were they repaired in a timely, professional and affordable manner, they also did everything needed to get permits and as a result all repairs were inspected and approved by our village. Marius is a true lifesaver. When something goes wrong, call Marius and he’ll be there on time and do the job right.”

Repairs & Installations: common questions

Do you charge for a diagnosis or estimate?

We tell you the cost before any work starts. For a typical repair we can quote it on site once we have found the problem. Larger jobs may need a closer look first. Ask when you call and we will explain how it works for your situation.

Should I repair my water heater or replace it?

It depends on the age of the unit, the failure, and the cost of the part. A leaking tank means replacement. A bad thermocouple or element on a newer heater is usually worth repairing. We will break down both options for you rather than defaulting to the more expensive one.

Can you handle both the plumbing and the fixture install during my remodel?

Yes. We do the rough-in during construction and come back to set and connect the fixtures at finish. If you are coordinating your own remodel we can work alongside your other trades.

My drain is slow — is that an emergency?

A single slow drain usually is not. If every drain in the house is backing up, or sewage is coming up, that is a main-line problem and you should call right away. See our emergency plumbing page.

Are you licensed and insured for this work?

Yes. North Service Plumbing is a licensed Illinois plumbing contractor and carries insurance for residential and commercial work.
